Hello

When I was a little girl, I'd spend hours sat on my mother's bed, watching her get ready for a night out. With her beautiful tanned skin, bright blue eyes and shiny black hair; she was, and still is, the most beautiful woman I've ever known.

I was truly mesmerised by her clothes, shoes, and makeup collection and I would get excited whenever she said she was going out for the night; because that's when her dressing room would be free.

Because my mother was so tanned, and I was porcelain, it goes without saying that my early days of experimenting with makeup were a disaster. In fact, the disaster days went on right through my teenage years. I learnt how to use kohl eyeliner by watching a girl in the P.E changing rooms and the hairstyle of the moment was lots and lots of mousse scrunched into wet hair, covered in hairspray and then pushed back with a headband.

So can you imagine my joy when I discovered YouTube and beauty blogs? Gone are my days of beige foundation lines around my pink face, complete with bright blue eyeshadow up to my brows. I owe my now flawless base and love for brown eyeshadow, amongst other things, to Lisa Eldridge and the Chapman sisters (Pixiwoo).

Before discovering the marvels of the blogosphere, I didn't have the confidence to try out new styles or makeup looks. But now I rarely leave the house without applying some kind of nail art or bold lipstick.

And when I do leave the house, I really like to make it count. I recently came back from a three month trip around the world. I spent the entire time doing things I never thought I would or could, such as scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef or going to surf camp. I feel like I owe the trip to The Secret and the law of attraction, which is something I will most likely be blogging about every now and again.

Well that's just a little snippet about me and why I've started this new blog - mainly to try out new styles and makeup products but I'm sure I'll be throwing anecdotes of my life in here. And who knows, I might be able to spread some positivity along the way.

I hope you enjoy reading...
