Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Blizzard

Whilst everyone else seems to be filling up their shopping baskets with lovely Christmas gifts for others, I just can't stop buying myself little presents!

My latest pre-Christmas purchase comes in the form of Illamasqua's nail varnish in Blizzard (Illamasqua, £14.50) and can we all just take a minute to admire it's beauty, please?


In a nutshell, this is just a white speckled glitter and there are numerous cheaper versions out there... however, Blizzard is so densely packed that you don't have to spend ages fishing around for the speckles. Simply apply one coat over your chosen shade and voilà, you're now wearing a customised nail varnish that is perfect for Christmas.

The above photo shows from left to right; Illamasqua 'Perseid', China Glaze 'Liquid Leather' with 'Blizzard' top coat, China Glaze 'Liquid Leather with no top coat and Rimmel 'Black Pearl'.

As you can see, I was clearly trying to find the perfect dark shade to contrast with the snow glitter, but then I decided to test it out on several different colours. I'm not going to name them all because, well, I simply can't remember, but you get the jist - Blizzard looks amazing over any shade!

My personal favourite shades to wear underneath Blizzard are black and navy, what do you think?
