I have never been a 'coat person' - I've always either felt too frumpy in a coat, or just never actually needed one. Instead I'd just opt for my trusty leather jacket and a cardigan/hoodie underneath if needs be. But with everyone predicting Winter 2013 to be the worst winter since 1947, I've recently found myself spending hours online, looking for the perfect winter coat. I've narrowed my favourites down to just 6...

Check, plaid, tartan - call it whatever you like, it always crops up around this time of year and is absolutely everywhere this season. In fact, along with expensive shoes and handbags, I consider anything tartan an 'investment buy' because you can guarantee you will get your moneys worth and wear them time and time again. I love layering tartan, shirts, scarves, socks etc. but I don't know if I'm bold enough for completely tartan outerwear...
4, 5, 6:
I'm swaying towards these three coats more than the others to be honest as I can see myself getting a bit more wear out of them - not worrying about them clashing with other print or them going well with my clothes.
Hmm, decisions, decisions, decisions... I guess I'll just have to clear my diary for this weekend and pop into Manchester to try these beautiful coats on! Fingers crossed I'll find a winner before the bloody snow hits, eh?
